Wailing Women Worldwide (Women Intercessors for the Church and the Nations)
Wailing Women Worldwide is a prayer movement raised by God to form a global army of Spirit-filled women. Their mission is to intercede for the cleansing and unity of the church and for nations to be redeemed until "the kingdoms of this world become the Kingdom of our God and of Christ." It is a prophetic and apostolic move led by God.
"Gather the women, for I will show mercy if they pray in true repentance."
Our History
The movement began in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, in May 1998 when God called women to pray for the spiritual condition of the church and the nation. He instructed that women from all 36 states should unite in intercession, promising mercy if they prayed in true repentance.
Since then, Wailing Women Worldwide has held solemn assemblies across different regions and nations.
The Call to
Stand in the Gap
Our call is rooted in Jeremiah 9:17–20, where God says:
"Call for the mourning women… that they may come… and take up a wailing for us."
This call is for:
- Women who will stand in the gap for families, cities, nations, and continents.
- Women who will pray until "the knowledge of the glory of the Lord fills the earth as the waters cover the sea" (Habakkuk 2:14).
For Families & Nations
Standing in the gap for the restoration of godly foundations.
For The Church
Praying for unity, cleansing, and a return to biblical truth.
"We will not rest until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth."
A Global Army
Reflecting the army described in Joel 2:3–5, we are strong and disciplined in carrying out God's purpose.
Wailing Women are commissioned to:
Cry out in repentance because of sin and violence in the world.
Teach daughters and others how to pray and lament over sin (Jeremiah 9:20).
Serve as God's messengers wherever He sends (Numbers 22:2–33, Jeremiah 1:5–8).
Root out evil and raise godly standards.
Strengthen the church and plant God's word in hearts.
Build altars of righteousness (Exodus 20:24–25).
